"As the Seattle Seahawks face the New England Patriots in the 2026 Super Bowl, the Pactific Northwest Conference has challenged New England to see who can raise the most food/dollars as part of the nationwide Tackle Hunger effort. If your church is participating in an effort to collect food or donations, we want to hear about it (and share our good news with the folks in the Pacific Northwest)."

You can drop off donations of food and money to the Westport Point UMC or the Westport Food Pantry at The Grange on Main Rd. Email the church at westportpointumc@gmail.com to tell us the weight and/or money amount donated so we can keep track for the conference competition.

Ongoing EVENTS


 Ongoing Activities of Westport Point United Methodist Church:

  • Prayer Meeting – Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m.

  • Bible Study – Wednesdays 7:00 p.m.

  • Mobile Ministries – On the first Saturday of every month, 11:00 a.m. at the Salvation Army in New Bedford, MA. We welcome donations of socks, underwear, and toiletries to those in need. 

  • Potluck dinner – Second Wednesday of every month at 5:30 p.m.

ANNUAL EVENTS


Ongoing annual activities of Westport Point United Methodist Church: 

 

  • Yard Sale – July 2026

  • Holly Fair – December 2026

  • Christmas Eve Service - December 24, 2025 at 7 pm

  • Easter Sunrise Service - April 5, 2026 - 6:30 am, location TBD

 

As additional annual activities are defined, they will be updated here. 

RENTAL

If you would like to use our space for any purpose, such as setting up a meeting time, organizing an event, coordinating a community-wide effort, holding a class, sponsoring a project, or any other relevant activity, please get in touch with us. We are more than happy to accommodate your needs.

 

Note: A one-day permit to consume alcohol on the premises can be obtained from Town Hall.

General Information for Church Board Meetings
 

Nominations – meets quarterly or when necessary.


Outside Group Meeting Times:

​

Many outside groups use our facility, including the Westport Rowers, Westport Point Neighborhood Association, Concerts at the Point, and local square dancers. Many have been on hiatus over the last two years, but as restrictions have lifted, they have slowly returned, and we would welcome our space for more groups to join! Please let us know if you or your group are interested in using our space. Groups in the past who have used our space have included: AA, NA, GA, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and others. All are welcome!

Board

Meets monthly on the third Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM unless otherwise noted.

FINANCE

Meets accordingly (most dates occur in late summer/early fall for budget preparation).

SPRC/PPRC

Mets when necessary (these meetings are closed to the congregation).

United Women of Faith

Meets the second Sunday of every month after worship

TRUSTEES

Meets accordingly (dates subject to change based on need and project status).

PRAYER MEETING

Meets Tuesdays at 6:00 PM in the meeting room.
