General Information for Church Board Meetings
 

Nominations – meets quarterly or when necessary.


Outside Group Meeting Times:

​

Many outside groups use our facility, including the Westport Rowers, Westport Point Neighborhood Association, Concerts at the Point, and local square dancers. Many have been on hiatus over the last two years, but as restrictions have lifted, they have slowly returned, and we would welcome our space for more groups to join! Please let us know if you or your group are interested in using our space. Groups in the past who have used our space have included: AA, NA, GA, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and others. All are welcome! 

AdministRative Board

Meets monthly on the third Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM unless otherwise noted.

FINANCE

Meets accordingly (most dates occur in late summer/early fall for budget preparation).

SPRC/PPRC

Mets when necessary (these meetings are closed to the congregation).

United Women of Faith

Meets regularly to plan upcoming events, retreats, and projects.

TRUSTEES

Meets accordingly (dates subject to change based on need and project status).

PRAYER MEETING

Meets Tuesdays at 6:00 PM in the meeting room.

**Fundraising Events**

Westport Point United Methodist Church is proud to support one of our young members in her mission efforts to the Dominican, where she will work to establish clean drinking water and share God’s love with those in need. Inspired by Christ's compassion, Filter of Hope provides clean water to thirsty communities by manufacturing and distributing simple, life-saving water filters, offering impoverished families access to 250 gallons of safe drinking water daily for up to 10 years.

**Holly Fair - December 6, 2025, at 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM** - Come buy to purchase gifts, holiday decorations, homemade goodies and much more!

Help us revitalize Howland Hall by participating in our upcoming fundraiser! Your support is essential in breathing new life into this beloved community space. Together, we can make a difference and ensure a bright future for Howland Hall. Thank you for your generosity!

**Harmony Grove Concert - February 2, 2025, at 3:00 P.M.** Join us for a concert spreading peace and love while raising funds to renovate the Howland Hall Community Center. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $20, and children under 12 are $10.

 Ongoing Activities of Westport Point United Methodist Church:

  • Prayer Meeting – Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m.

  • Bible Study – Wednesdays 7:00 p.m.

  • Mobile Ministries – On the first Saturday of every month, 11:00 a.m. at the Salvation Army in New Bedford, MA. We welcome donations of socks, underwear, and toiletries to those in need. 

  • Potluck dinner – First Wednesday of every month at 5:30 p.m.

As additional annual activities are defined, they will be updated here. 

RENTAL

If you would like to use our space for any purpose, such as setting up a meeting time, organizing an event, coordinating a community-wide effort, holding a class, sponsoring a project, or any other relevant activity, please get in touch with us. We are more than happy to accommodate your needs.

 

Note: A one-day permit to consume alcohol on the premises can be obtained from Town Hall.
